In a blaze of fury, an unpaid building worker unleashed havoc by setting fire to a luxury resort home in Na Jomtien. The dramatic showdown ended as the arsonist handed himself over to the police.

At 9.30am on April 5, Na Jomtien Police sprang into action after receiving reports of a roaring fire at a plush three-storey residence. Firefighters dashed to the scene with three engines in tow, battling flames and dense smoke for over 30 minutes.

The inferno left the property’s interior severely scorched, with extensive damage recorded. Police swiftly nabbed 57 year old Sinchai, who admitted to his fiery antics.

Chaloem, a 60 year old security guard, revealed the story behind the blaze.

“Sinchai was furious over unpaid dues from the property owner and in a fit of rage, the disgruntled worker hurled a brick through a window, injuring his leg, before igniting the blaze.”

Calm amidst the chaos, Sinchai surrendered to the police, ending his scorching protest with a whimper, reported Pattaya News.

In similar news, chaos and giggles broke out in Pattaya after a cannabis cultivation centre went up in flames, leaving residents and tourists red-eyed and reeling.

The drama unfolded on the evening of February 13, when the Land Disaster Relief Radio Centre received frantic calls about a raging blaze at a residential block on Soi Welcome Jomtien, in Nongprue.

In no time, Pattaya police, Jomtien disaster crews, and rescue volunteers dashed to the scene to tackle the inferno.

The fire had erupted on the second floor of a four-storey commercial building owned by Little Christiania Co., Ltd., known locally for cultivating cannabis.

Flames quickly tore through the floor, sending thick clouds of pungent smoke drifting through the narrow alleyways, much to the confusion (and amusement) of nearby residents and tourists, many of whom reported feeling “a bit funny.”
